About

Jack BrooksI grew up in the Washington D.C. area in a suburb of Alexandria, Virginia. From early on, I was a severe stutterer and in my teens discovered the power of an electric guitar to win friends and influence people.  At last, I’d found a way to communicate using the rich language and power of music, so playing gigs, concerts, recording and songwriting became my life for the next 30 years.
I played around the D.C. area in bands such as this one and then came West to Hollywood in the 70’s seeking fame and fortune. It was at the UCLA Group Speech Therapy Clinic that I was to learn “to be a better stutterer” with the help of Joseph and Vivian Sheehan, the therapists who’d done groundbreaking research into new therapeutic models  with group speech therapy there throughout the 70’s. In those group therapy sessions,  they taught me and many other stutterers  how to “earn” speech fluency using their system of “easy stuttering.”  This  inspired a passion for conscious communication that has continued unabated since.

I’d always had an interest in technology, watching science shows on the family black & white TV in the 50’s (it was a techno-geek’s dream come true a few years ago to talk to my childhood idol, Don Herbert aka  Mr.Wizard, thanks to George Noory on AM Coast To Coast ). Also building electronic kits, getting my Amateur Radio license and talking to Hams all around the world and then working as an electronics technician, but it was during a stint at a test lab for the new IBM clones flooding our shores in the 80’s that I became intrigued by those miraculous beige boxes. So when my bank  went online shortly thereafter, I was among the first signing up to see my miniscule balance on a tiny monitor!
Soon after, I’d learned just enough HTML to put up a web site – all of 2 pages!
The rest, as they say, is history; as the Internet  morphed from text-based web pages to the highly social, relationship-driven and somewhat “Wild, Wild West” online environment that it is today, as I immersed myself in technology and interactive  communication, the distinction between conscious and unconscious internet visibility began to unfold.

I became  associated with Robert Reiher, Ph.D., the founder of EsmartChoice, who brought Applied Enrichment Science to a  business world becoming increasingly aware of the emergence of an Enrichment Economy.  A shared belief in the Internet’s boundless potential led us to develop Conscious Internet Visibility, which we believe to be the future of internet communication.

As available  bandwidth increases to deepen and widen Internet communications channels, innovative New Tools that facilitate joining and relating appear on an almost daily basis. The existing ones are being used in new and exciting  ways with more people entering the Web’s swirling waters, first gingerly dipping a toe, then diving in.
We are obligated to help keep other, less experienced, online swimmers  from getting in over their heads.

The need is greater than ever to bring consciousness to our online interactive communication, enriching our relationships and striving together for positive change in a world made weary by conflict and mis-communication. All this while doing business with each other and for each other. A formidable challenge, indeed!
Clearly, if New Rules are used to guide the use of these New Tools, this challenge can not only be met, but exceeded.
